About Me
Parker Joh(he/him/his) is a Korean-American dancer, actor, singer based in New York City. Parker found his love for movement through the most recent revival of On The Town on Broadway! “I want to be able to look that graceful!” was the first thought that came to mind when seeing every dance number of this show. Parker always wanted to be a meteorologist, so he pursued a degree in Physical Geography at The University of South Carolina. After completion, he realized that the news station was not quite right. While he did not necessarily have a dance background growing up, music and movement resonated well from being a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Tae-Kwon Do, Gymnastics, and piano lessons. Stepping into dance class was an easy transition.
Right after college, he attended and completed The Broadway Dance Center Training Program, where he studied ballet and theatre. Under the mentorship of Justin Boccitto and Michael Cusumano, this launched his professional career of 6 years. With this, he has performed at well known regional theatres such as: Barter Theatre, Mill Mountain Theatre, The Warehouse Theatre, The Fireside Theatre, and Playhouse On Park. Additionally, Parker has volunteered his time to dance in the annual Broadway Bares Stripathon to raise money for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids for the past four years. He partners with Fresco’s Grand Cantina to choreograph a burlesque show and raises money for the cause. He is incredibly grateful for the opportunities he has been provided and is excited to collaborate with more artists who are passionate about both Regional and Broadway theatre!
